Eddie Garcia met Bobby Bones more than 10 years ago when they worked together at ME Television, a local Austin, TX music TV station. Shortly thereafter he began working with Bones on his nightly TV show, where they formed a parody and cover band, The Raging Idiots, which Bobby often features on his national radio show. The Raging Idiots travel across the U.S. and have raised millions of dollars for various charities. After more than a decade of friendship, Eddie finally became an official member of The Bobby Bones Show in 2013.
As the show’s Digital Content Producer, Eddie has brought a professional background in TV, news and music entertainment to the team, boosting the morning show’s digital platform with high-quality, fully-produced video and web content. For their work on the program, Eddie and the cast recently received their second CMA Award for “National On-Air Personality of the Year” (previous win in 2017), following a third ACM Award in the same category (2018, 2016 and 2014). In 2018, Eddie, along with Lunchbox and Ray from The Bobby Bones Show, began hosting a new podcast called Sore Losers which was launched as part of Bobby Bones’ Nashville Podcast Network.
Eddie has garnered significant attention and praise for his photojournalism. His film Shattered received screenings at the New York Film Festival, Miami International Film Festival and the Cinesol Film Festival. The production secured high acclaim, including a National Association of Broadcasters Award for Best TV Drama. Along with his Silver TELLY and Bronze ADDY awards, Eddie has earned several nods from groups including Texas Associated Press Broadcasters, Lone Star EMMYs, and received the USC Annenberg Walter Cronkite Award for Political Journalism Honorable Mention.
Born and raised in a traditional Mexican/American home, Eddie loves listening to all kinds of music. His passion for music inspired him to learn how to play several instruments, including piano and guitar.
In addition to his role as half of The Raging Idiots, Eddie is the “voice of the dad” on The Bobby Bones Show. Married in 2005, he has two boys who are often brought up on the air, especially when the gang needs the “parent’s point of view.” In 2019, Eddie and his wife welcomed two more children into their home as foster parents.
In between the time he spends with his family and the band’s busy tour schedule, Eddie participates in several local charity events including Cars for a Cure and the Annual Standup to Cancer event in Nashville. Additionally, with the help of co-host Lunchbox, Eddie provides weekly produced videos promoting pet adoption for social media distribution and contributes to benefits like the annual Unleashed event for the Nashville Humane Association. He has also provided freelance production for organizations such as Make a Wish Foundation.
